Our Story
It all started in 2015 when our founder, Poppy, was searching for a phone case to reflect her bright and cheerful personality. But she was disappointed to find just basic black and white cases everywhere she looked. That’s when Poppy had a brilliant idea – why not create her own line of dazzling, colorful phone cases? And so Xo Poppy® was born!
Poppy started handcrafting unique, one-of-a-kind phone cases in her basement workshop. Her designs featured all of her favorite things – radiant florals, cosmic rainbows, sassy fruits, frolicking unicorns and more. She even added 3D elements like fuzzy pom poms and googly eyes to make them extra fun and dimensional. Her cases were an instant hit with friends and family who had never seen anything like them before.
Encouraged by the positive response, Poppy expanded the Xo Poppy® product line to include more tech accessories and home items all featuring her signature colorful, playful style. Glittery laptop sleeves, holographic phone wallets, smiling mug warmers, prismatic power banks – Poppy’s imagination knew no bounds!
As demand grew, Poppy moved production from her basement to a small studio, hiring local artists and designers to handcraft the products and package them in her trademark rainbow gift boxes. While production has scaled up over the years, Poppy still designs every item herself and oversees quality control to ensure that each product is infused with her personal touch and attention to detail.
Today, Xo Poppy® has become a leading maker of tech accessories and home goods for the playful at heart. Our products are sold by hundreds of retailers worldwide and bring a smile to customers everywhere. But our Minnesota studio remains at the heart of it all, where Poppy and her team dream up new, innovative product designs every day.

How We Make It
While our product lineup has expanded over the years, a few key elements of our process remain the same:
Unique In-House Designs
Every single product design starts right here in our Minnesota studio. Our creative designers experiment with all sorts of color combinations, prints and motifs to come up with completely novel looks. We find inspiration from nature, art, music, sci-fi, mythology and beyond! Even for classics like floral prints, we add an imaginative twist to keep things fresh.
Vibrant Colors and Prints
Our products are known for being unapologetically vivid! We use the most saturated hues and patterns we can find to create designs that pop. Even clear or neutral items get decked out with rainbow edges or colorful accents. We want every product to be eye-catching and impossible to miss!
Whimsical Elements
What really makes an Xo Poppy product stand out are the playful 3D elements and textures we add. From puffy pom poms, tactile glitter and neon piping to bold dimensional motifs, every detail is designed to make you smile! We don’t hold back when it comes to making things fun and surprising.
